10 Platform Security

The following guidelines must be followed by applications using protected system components.

Every application needs to be assigned with Platform Security capabilities. The different capabilities are listed in the “Platform security engineering guide”.

Applications must be assigned correct capabilities.

The application target type in Symbian OS v9 has changed from .app to .exe. All applications need to be changed to the current target type.

All applications must set the target type to .exe and implement the correct entry points.
