Ottawa, Canada, April 04, 2006 - UIQ Technology and BitFlash, a provider of Mobile SVG-based technologies, announced today that they have entered into a partnership to offer pre-integrated SVG Tiny (1.2) solutions to UIQ customers.

Widely recognized as one of the most technologically advanced embedded SVG solutions, the BitFlash SVG Tiny player is fully compatible with the W3C's SVG Tiny 1.1 and 1.2 specifications. Our patented real-time 2D rendering technology lives at the heart of the BitFlash SVG solution, providing the highest quality rendering at blazing speeds, ensuring optimal animation frame rates, all while minimizing memory usage. This full-featured player breathes life into the W3C's new SVG Tiny 1.2 specification with full support for Audio, Video, uDOM and XML communication.

"The SVG solution provided by BitFlash is an important building block for creating a compelling user experience on the UIQ platform by bringing support for rich, scalable and interactive SVG-Tiny content", says Peter Molin, VP Product Management at UIQ Technology. "UIQ is designed to provide an excellent user experience and enables extensive rights for phone manufacturers to customize and configure the software platform to fit into their product portfolio and branding. The cooperation with BitFlash will expand these possibilities".

UIQ Technology creates the UIQ platform, an open software platform, that enables handset manufacturers to create a portfolio of phones, highly diversified with different phone styles, still based on one single codeline - a key benefit for phone manufacturers in order to accelerate time to market when producing different kinds of phones.

"BitFlash is excited to be working with UIQ Technology to add value to the UIQ Platform. This collaboration will allow UIQ-enabled device manufacturers to provide rich and dynamic graphical user interfaces to their mobile customers around the world", says Don Liberty, Director of Business Development at BitFlash. "The BitFlash Mobile SVG solution is based on the W3C's SVG Tiny 1.1 and 1.2 specifications, and permits UIQ customers to honor the requirements of today's mobile operators."
