UIQ Technology launches the UIQ Developer Advisory Board
12 October 2006
The advisory board consists of developer community owners and companies that directly impact developers targeting the UIQ platform, with the common interest of ensuring the success of those developers. Initial members, beside UIQ Technology, are Symbian, Sony Ericsson, Orange, Motricity and Handango.
The primary purpose of the Advisory Board is to coordinate activities that support developers targeting the UIQ platform by ensuring a consistent, coherent and efficient use of the eco-system resources. Optimizing the use of resources in the common areas will enable member organizations to focus on their specific activities and services, improving their value proposition for developers.
Secondly, a visible alignment of all parts of the value chain will help developers to make sense of an often confusing industry and see a clear map of the UIQ ecosystem to guide their progression through the whole development and distribution process of their applications.
Third, the Developer Advisory Board is committed to listen to developers by securing constructive feedback based upon industry-recognized developer requirements and will address the issues developers may raise regarding the ecosystem. At the same time, in a proactive manner, the Advisory Board will work on identifying and addressing technical, business and research activities to benefit developers.
The UIQ Developer Advisory Board will reconvene on a quarterly meeting base, the first meeting being on October 19th, in London, UK
