The purpose of the UIQ Developer Program is to provide a manufacturer-independent source of support to developers on UIQ 3 and onwards. Using the UIQ 3 software platform, independent software vendors and developers can build applications that will be able to run on any UIQ 3 based device, regardless of phone style, manufacturer or network operator branding. By coordinating all information and support regarding the UIQ software platform, the Developer Program ensures that the same message is given to all the UIQ developers.

The UIQ Developer Program focuses on providing the necessary tools, information and support that developers need to create attractive and profitable solutions for mobile phones based on the UIQ 3 software platform.
This web portal offers all the information and services expected to enable a developer community. for instance, it provides development kits and tools downloads, documentation, references, tutorials and guides, knowledge base, code samples, technical articles, tips, community news and events information, training information etc.
Integration with existing programs
The UIQ Developer Program only supports UIQ 3 onwards. Previous versions of the UIQ platform already have excellent support through two major developer programs; Sony Ericsson's Developer World and Motorola's Motocoder.
UIQ Developer Program will support developers with platform-generic information about Symbian OS and UIQ 3. This will allow mobile phone manufacturers to focus on supporting device-specific functionality which helps them further differentiate their products.
Adapt it to your needs
To realize and strengthen our relationship with the community, the UIQ Developer Program offers different levels of membership, starting from the Community level, providing basic technical knowledge and documentation, tools and industry insight, to the Premium level, adding extended content access, marketing opportunities and development efficiencies, and the Professional level, adding funding, access to networks and information under NDA.
Each level offers more support, improved services and a closer contact with UIQ Technology, to both satisfy the needs of the members and emulate their involvement in the community
Memberships description
Non-members of the Program (or visitors) have a "public" access to the website and can read the Platform documentation, the News and Events, Knowledge base and Forum (but not post in it).
When you register to the program, you are automatically promoted to the Community level.
As a Community member, you can purchase technical support and/or a higher membership: the Premium level.
The Premium membership grants you more access and to the content and services offered by the Developer Program.
The last membership level is the Professional level, accessible by invitation only; more information about it will be given later this year.

The yearly membership fee for Premium membership is $500 (five hundred US dollars) and includes all the advantages of the Community membership, plus the following:
